The El Filtro farm is located within the Las Nubes (the clouds) community in Nueva Segovia. The mountain microclimate, as the name suggests, is ideal for cultivating high-quality coffee. Wilmer Figueroa purchased the land 15 years ago, and since then, every member of the family actively participates in the production of quality coffee. During the harvest period, 30 workers are hired to selectively pick the cherries from the Maracaturra plants. This variety is capable of producing exquisite beans, long and voluminous, with acidic and pleasantly bitter notes. The processing involves a 36-hour fermentation in tanks, after which the coffee is dried on African beds.
